1. Before icon restoration. The icon was damaged by a hurricane. The damage includes losses in the paint and ground layers as well as intense flaking, bulging and cracking.

3. During icon restoration. The same detail of the icon's bottom left corner during treatment. Flaking problem has been consolidated and new gesso fillings have been applied.

4. After icon restoration. The icon has been cleaned from its surface dirt. The new gesso fillings have been retouched. A thin layer of varnish has been applied over the entire surface.
